283: Big changes

This concentrated zombie riot lasted for nearly a month. Besides the Dongshan Base, which was relatively close to Donghai City and less affected, all other bases of the Alliance fell. Even the strongest Beidu Base only held out for twenty-five days.

With air transport capacity limited, personnel migration was insufficient, and of the Alliance's tens of millions of people, only about one million truly reached Donghai City. A large amount of supplies was abandoned, and the Alliance system was destroyed in one go.

Throughout the entire process, Tian Ming assisted the Alliance's various bases in their evacuation. He alone killed nearly five thousand Corpse Kings of various sizes, and his control range increased from thirty-nine meters to one hundred and five meters.

The Nitrogen Bomb he condensed had already reached an equivalent of hundreds of thousands of tons. Of Beidu's ten million zombies, several million were wiped out by Tian Ming's Nitrogen Bomb in one wave.

Zombies in other areas did not fare well either. The Alliance lost eleven bases and nearly nine million people, while Jiang Chen paid the price of losing tens of thousands of Corpse Kings and twenty million highly evolved zombies.

Of these tens of thousands of Corpse Kings, thirty percent died at Tian Ming's hands, and half of the twenty million zombies were blown to death by Tian Ming's Nitrogen Super Bomb.

Having fought to this point, both sides were red-eyed. Large numbers of ordinary zombies formed armies and began moving south, preparing to eliminate all the Alliance members who had fled to Donghai City.

A small portion of the population that could not be transferred began to compromise with the Corpse Kings. This small group of compromisers became the Corpse Kings' base administrators.

To manage people with people, and to manage food with food, the Corpse Kings were capable of such things. As long as the zombies had enough population, more powerful Corpse Kings would continuously evolve.

Around the East Sea City Shelter, there were countless aircraft and helicopters, and the open ground was filled with large planes. On the ground, tents were pitched everywhere.

On an area of over ten square kilometers, nearly two million people gathered, and upon learning of the zombies' southward movement, everyone's face was filled with panic.

Inside the East Sea City Shelter, Lin Yao, as the head of the Alliance Headquarters, looked extremely grim. Jiang Chen's sudden attack resulted in heavy human losses. The newly established Super Legion had not yet formed full combat effectiveness when nearly ninety percent were killed in action while covering the retreat, and the Superpower Users were reduced to only five.

What was lost was not just personnel, but also weapon production bases and advanced research laboratories—that was almost everything humanity had.

Inside the conference room, the atmosphere was extremely heavy. Tian Ming sat silently in the main seat. This past month had been a nightmare for everyone.

Lin Yao cleared his throat and said, "Given the current situation, I will not elaborate further. The entire Alliance system, after this catastrophe, now has only over two million people, including the Dongshan Base. Everything has been lost. As the head of the Alliance Headquarters, I, Lin Yao, am solely responsible."

The venue was utterly silent; no one uttered a sound. The defense forces of each base suffered losses of over ninety percent, and in some bases, the defense forces were completely wiped out.

But the only thing worth celebrating was that the two million people who escaped were all highly qualified individuals. Nearly half were experts, scholars, and technical personnel from various fields, with less than fifty percent being ordinary civilians.

The East Sea City Shelter did not do nothing this past month. When the zombies fully rioted, Meng Xian immediately deployed defense forces in all passages. The Lawrence Family also provided a large amount of weapons and ammunition through sea transport as support.

Currently, the momentum of the zombies' southward movement has not slowed, but they dare not conduct large-scale massing. As long as they mass, they will inevitably be subjected to Tian Ming's Super Bomb. Without massing, to cross the central mountains, they can only take key transportation routes.

Along all routes, there are heavily armed forces dispatched by Meng Xian to guard them.

Outside Donghai City, Tian Ming was powerless to reverse the situation. No matter how many he killed, those civilians could not be transported, and Jiang Chen would directly appear to restrain him.

Inside the conference room, seeing that everyone was silent, Tian Ming stood up and said, "The zombies are moving south, everyone needs to pull yourselves together. It's not a big deal; what we lost, we can rebuild. Only a small portion of zombies have brains, but all of us humans have brains. How can we, a species with brains, surrender to brainless zombies?"

A middle-aged man below, with bloodshot eyes, was the head of the Northwest Base, named Yebuti. The Northwest Base fell the fastest. Of its one million people, less than thirty thousand successfully escaped. Because it was too far from Donghai City, the return transport only lasted three days before collapsing.

Yebuti stood up and said, "You don't surrender, you are a Full Element Ability User, you fear nothing, so naturally, you speak without feeling the pain. Do you know how many people we lost? Do you know what we lost? Do you know how heavy the price of this zombie riot was for us?"

Yebuti's emotions were exceptionally agitated. As he spoke, his last sentence was almost a roar.

Inside the conference room, the atmosphere was suppressed to the extreme. Yebuti's roar echoed in every corner. But Tian Ming's expression showed no fluctuation.

Tian Ming slowly spoke, "How could I not know? This past month, the distance I've traveled could circle the Blue Star a thousand times. The number of zombies I've killed exceeds the total number of all survivors. I speak without feeling the pain? Without me, you wouldn't even have the chance to sit here."

Tian Ming paused, his gaze sweeping over every face present: "I know that many people believe that it is precisely because of my strength that Jiang Chen decided to launch such a large-scale riot. Therefore, a portion of people will attribute the Alliance's losses this time to me. Am I right? I think more than one person here thinks this way."

After a moment of silence, a woman stood up and said, "That's right, it's precisely because you are too strong that Jiang Chen felt he couldn't completely control humanity, which led him to act so swiftly and decisively. If it weren't for you, at least Jiang Chen wouldn't have acted so quickly, and our Alliance would have had enough time to build up its own defense forces, thereby achieving a balance. As long as a balance is achieved, we can contend with the zombies, using time to gain space for survival. We might even be able to research the secrets of zombie mutation and abilities, allowing the world to return to normal."

Tian Ming's face instantly darkened. A month ago, Jiang Chen's mockery was still fresh in his ears. Jiang Chen could control all zombies, making them obey. But he, Lu Tianming, could not dictate even one person's thoughts.

The woman's words were a mockery to Tian Ming. But this mockery seemed so logical and well-founded, even making people mistakenly believe that what she said was the truth.
