371: Magical substance

When Tian Ming stepped into the Flying Research Institute of the base, he was first attracted by the spacious and bright space.

Scientists, dressed in white protective suits, were busy conducting experiments at various workstations, and the entire institute was filled with a rigorous and professional atmosphere.

The Flying Research Institute’s design was distinctly different from other parts of the base.

Most of the equipment and workshops were located above ground, which contrasted sharply with the underground layout of other sections of the base.

This layout was chosen to better study aircraft within the atmosphere.

Here, top-tier wind tunnels became standard, simulating various flight environments and providing accurate data and experimental conditions for the scientists.

Tian Ming walked along the corridor, and through the glass windows on both sides, he could clearly see models in the wind tunnel undergoing various extreme condition tests.

Upon entering the core area, Shen Yi immediately came forward to greet him.

This research institute had just been built, and most of the development projects were from before the Apocalypse; the things currently being developed were all based on previous foundations.

"Boss, you're here!"

Tian Ming nodded slightly and said, "What, back to your old job?"

Shen Yi smiled calmly and said, "Yes, it was arranged by the Comprehensive Management Department.

Since taking over, the Alliance also has many half-developed projects.

With the help of Ability Users, many projects have progressed very smoothly.

Considering the threat of war with the corpse race, our base needs a heavy anti-gravity levitation aircraft that can fly both within the atmosphere and into space."

"What's the current progress?" Tian Ming asked.

"The design phase is complete, and the scaled model has passed wind tunnel tests, but there's one problem that hasn't been solved yet."

Tian Ming followed Shen Yi, chatting as he toured.

"What problem hasn't been solved?"

Shen Yi pondered for a moment and said, "Currently, the biggest difficulty in developing this aircraft lies in materials and manufacturing processes.

We have invested a lot of resources and manpower, but we still cannot solve the key technical problems.

However, the most important challenge is the excited-state superconductor levitation issue."

Tian Ming frowned and asked, "Don't we have room-temperature superconducting materials?"

Shen Yi smiled and said, "We do, but in the Earth's magnetic field, the levitation force provided by this diamagnetism is too weak.

Our magnetic material research found a super-strong miraculous substance in some meteorite fragments from the Grand Elder, which can be excited by a tiny electromagnetic induction to obtain a levitation field.

This levitation field can lift substances at least one hundred million times its own mass."

Tian Ming immediately became interested and said, "You mean, one gram of this miraculous substance, after excitation, can form an energy field capable of levitating one hundred tons of mass?"

Shen Yi nodded and led Tian Ming into the Laboratory.

In the Laboratory, several researchers were busy conducting experiments.

Seeing Tian Ming enter, they all nodded in greeting.

"Yes, currently, we have collected a large number of meteorites from the Grand Elder and have only extracted about 3 grams of this substance," Shen Yi said.

Tian Ming quickly asked, "Then what element is this substance?"

Shen Yi shook his head and said, "Our detection methods cannot probe its internal structure.

This thing is extremely sensitive to energy; even a slight energy input will form a shielding field effect, making it impossible to detect what elements are inside.

Originally, this was intended to be the engine for the levitation aircraft, but its scarcity and inability to be processed pose our biggest challenge."

After hearing this, Tian Ming fell into contemplation.

The properties of this substance were both mysterious and perplexing, yet it also might hide immense potential.

He knew deeply that in the field of scientific research, every seemingly unsolvable problem could be an opportunity for a brand new breakthrough.

"Take me to see it.

Let me see if I can detect what this substance is and try to replicate it," Tian Ming tentatively asked.

A glint flashed in Shen Yi's eyes, and he quickly nodded, saying, "Follow me."

When Shen Yi led Tian Ming to the Laboratory, they saw several researchers gathered around a massive piece of equipment, nervously conducting experiments.

This equipment looked very advanced, emitting a faint blue light.

"It's right here," Shen Yi said, pointing to a black, block-shaped object inside the protective cover.

Tian Ming approached to observe, finding that the surface of this substance shimmered with a faint pale blue light.

The substance appeared a deep black, and its surface was not smooth but had some irregular bumps, which, however, did not give a rough feeling but rather added a mysterious aura.

Shen Yi said, "This is the mysterious substance we extracted from the Grand Elder meteorite; we call it 'gravity weng'."

"I feel a very peculiar energy fluctuation," Tian Ming said with a frown.

"This fluctuation seems different from any energy I'm familiar with."

"Exactly."

Shen Yi nodded and said, "We have tried various methods to detect it, but none have succeeded.

Once there is energy input, it forms a shielding field, preventing any form of detection."

Tian Ming reached out his hand, which etherealized and passed directly through the glass cover, extending towards the substance.

Shen Yi, standing by, did not stop him, knowing that if anyone in the entire base could uncover the essence of this substance, it could only be Tian Ming.

The moment Tian Ming's fingers touched the gravity weng, he felt an extremely powerful energy.

This energy seemed to generate out of thin air, continuously surging from within, endless.

Suddenly, this miraculous substance began to liquefy, forming a viscous liquid like tar, enveloping Tian Ming's entire palm.

"Be careful!" Shen Yi's voice was filled with tension, and he instantly rushed forward, but it was too late.

The gravity weng's reaction exceeded everyone's expectations, including Tian Ming's own.

The gravity weng broke through the glass cover and rapidly expanded in volume until it completely enveloped Tian Ming.

Tian Ming, wrapped in the viscous liquid, felt no discomfort; instead, a cool sensation spread from his palm, gradually extending throughout his body.

He felt as if every cell in his body was activated by this energy, full of vitality.

"It's fine... I feel great." Tian Ming's tone was calm; rather than calling this thing a substance, it was more like a materialized pure energy.

This energy should be related to the Yuanchu God.

The surrounding researchers were stunned by this scene; they had never seen such a peculiar sight.

Shen Yi nervously observed Tian Ming's condition, ready to take emergency measures at any moment.

As time passed, Tian Ming felt that a strange connection seemed to have been established between him and the gravity weng.

He even felt that his own body was being assimilated by this miraculous substance.
