273: The clone is really useful.

Tian Ming, as a Full Element Ability, found that his ability was best utilized on his clones, which could be made from the best and strongest materials. Therefore, controlling the clones was much like remotely controlling robots.

After a brief experiment, he found that his brain could connect to nine clones simultaneously. Any more than that would easily overload his brain; forget controlling them, even the sheer number of first-person perspectives would make Tian Ming throw up.

When simultaneously connected to nine clones, the effective range was 50 kilometers. However, if he only controlled one clone, the range extended to 200 kilometers. This was certainly not the limit. Tian Ming only conducted a brief experiment and discovered that the more clones he controlled, the shorter the distance, but the relationship was not directly proportional. Instead, it resembled a classic odd function curve.

It's a curve like this. Raise your hand if you understand.

This ability, much like Tian Ming's learning to fly, has a process of adaptation and growth. Nine clones are a bit few. If he could control hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands in the future, and the control range increased to hundreds or thousands of kilometers, that would be something.

Tian Ming also discovered that when he did not actively connect his consciousness to the clones he had replicated, they would not become completely ineffective. Instead, they would enter an alert mode, which would automatically initiate counterattacks.

The only drawback was that the clones could not use the ability to manipulate matter, but he could understand why. His own matter manipulation range was thirty meters. If the clones could use the ability to manipulate matter, it would be equivalent to indirectly expanding his manipulation range. So, he could accept that they did not have this ability.

Clones that Tian Ming had connected to, as if activated by his consciousness, could understand his explicit commands. However, clones that lost connection would not spontaneously think about problems, essentially functioning as an impaired version of robots.

But this way, Tian Ming did not have to constantly connect to these clones. He created a few more clones, connected to them briefly, then disconnected to activate their consciousness. This gave him a small team of hundreds of people. Equipping each of them with a gun felt incredibly satisfying.

After the experiment, Tian Ming finally went to the air-raid Shelter. The clones he created also followed him closely. As long as he issued a command in his mind, they would follow it perfectly.

Now, Tian Ming somewhat understood why the Primordial Creator God had to differentiate so many consciousnesses. Because this way, it was truly fun.

Entering the air-raid Shelter where the Corpse King kept humans, the place reeked, dirtier than a pigsty. There was only basic lighting and necessary ventilation.

The air-raid Shelter was full of garbage and excrement. It was even worse than the previous captivity area managed by the Xuan Long Gang. Originally, this place had thousands of people, but those who starved or died of illness became food for the zombies.

These Corpse Kings who kept humans would send zombies to collect some food and then feed it to the captives, just like feeding pigs. They usually did not manage the place, so the rate of personnel reduction was very fast.

Tian Ming led his clone team into the foul-smelling air-raid Shelter. The surrounding sights made him frown. He saw the captive humans; their eyes were filled with fear and despair. These people were locked up like animals, waiting for an unknown death to descend upon them.

He turned to his clone team and gave an order: “Go and clear out all the zombies in this area, and gather all the people at the entrance.”

Upon receiving the order, the clone team immediately began to act. Soon, gunshots and the shouts of the clones echoed in the air-raid Shelter. These clones moved very quickly. In a short while, the zombies in the air-raid Shelter were cleared out, and the captive humans were gathered at the entrance.

Tian Ming walked towards these rescued humans, their faces still showing fear and unease.

“Someone who can speak, who is the manager?” Tian Ming asked.

Even when zombies kept humans, they would select some administrators from among the captives to manage them. Otherwise, if this air-raid Shelter lacked even basic lighting and ventilation, no one would have survived until now.

From the crowd, a seemingly middle-aged man stepped forward and bowed to Tian Ming.

“My name is Li Mo. Gang Dan asked me to manage this place, but she should be dead now, right?”

Tian Ming nodded slightly and said, “Yes, I have already killed her.”

Li Mo knelt down with a thud and said, “Thank you for saving us. If it weren't for you, we might still be living in this dark, sunless cave.”

Tian Ming nodded. He looked at Li Mo and said, “How long have you been confined?”

Li Mo sighed, “Two months after the zombie outbreak, thousands of us were trapped here. Because I have some organizational ability and combat skills, I was chosen as an administrator by the Corpse King. I tried my best to make life better for the people here, but…” He shook his head, a trace of helplessness and pain flashing in his eyes.

“These zombies, they treat us as food and only occasionally throw in some. Moreover, they don't care whether we live or die; anyone who dares to resist is immediately executed. I've always tried to find a way out, but I haven't succeeded.” Li Mo looked at the surrounding crowd, his voice a little choked.

Tian Ming patted Li Mo's shoulder: “I have already contacted my Shelter. We will send helicopters to pick you up at the square later. Organize yourselves and leave here in an orderly manner.”

Li Mo nodded. Tian Ming directly ordered the clones to assist Li Mo in maintaining order. Some of the sick were carried outside by the clones.

Tian Ming leaned against the side, also a bit puzzled. Where did the energy for these clones' actions come from? Was he creating a perpetual motion machine?

Tian Ming shook his head. It should be that these clones, being within the link range, could draw on his energy.

And he was the one breaking the conservation of energy. Hundreds of clones, with a connection range of over 30 kilometers according to the curve, meant that within this range, the clones' energy would not run out.

Of course, Tian Ming naturally would not think about such deep-seated reasons, but the efficiency of using clones to get things done really saved him a lot of trouble.

With the assistance of the clones, the captive humans left the air-raid Shelter in an orderly fashion. They were taken to the square, awaiting the arrival of the helicopters. Li Mo and some other administrators began to organize the people into lines, ensuring they could board the aircraft in an orderly manner and be properly arranged.

Tian Ming observed all this from the side. Having been a savior so many times, the thrill was not as intense as before, but he was still gratified. What he did was insignificant to him, but for them, it changed the trajectory of their lives.

These people had once lived in fear and despair, but now, they could finally regain their freedom and start a new life.

Soon, a roaring sound came from the sky. These were the helicopters sent by the Shelter to pick up the rescued people.
