35: Look at me, I have dark circles under my eyes.

Tian Ming entered the room, looking at the images displayed on the computer and the flickering data, and he felt his head ache.

At the same time, he looked at Shen Yuan with new eyes; despite being a young girl, her capabilities were no less than his elder brother's.

Soon, Shen Yuan emerged from the cubicle, her face still wet, and strands of hair on her forehead still clinging with water droplets.

Shen Yuan smiled, picking up the kettle: "Want some water, Boss?"

Tian Ming shook his head and said, "No, you drink it!"

Shen Yuan nodded lightly, poured a glass of water, and then sat in front of the computer, her fingers dancing on the keyboard like leaping sprites.

"What was your major, Boss?" Shen Yuan asked.

Being asked about his education, Tian Ming felt a little displeased and said, "No degree. My parents died in high school, so I dropped out to work and pay off debts."

Shen Yuan blinked, a hint of surprise in her expression. Now, she seemed to understand why Tian Ming was so realistic and pragmatic.

"Sorry, Boss, please don't misunderstand. I just wanted to explain my idea in a way you'd understand. Asking about your major was just to see if I should go from simple to complex, or complex to simple!"

"Your words can easily lead to misinterpretations. What's with 'simple to complex'? Just tell me in plain terms what you're planning to do."

"Huh? How could it be misinterpreted?"

Shen Yuan was a top student, passionate about research, and her mind was free of any 'spiritual impurities.' 'Simple to complex' in her vocabulary carried no hidden meanings.

Tian Ming quickly waved his hand and said, "Don't dwell on that. Just tell me what's going on. If you can't handle it, I can assist you."

"I need a large server, a very large one, as big as a house," Shen Yuan said.

"No, our power system is too weak; it simply can't support the establishment of a server room." Tian Ming refused without hesitation. Not to mention what she would use it for, the power consumption alone would be unsustainable.

Shen Yuan seemed to anticipate Tian Ming's refusal and began, "The Shelter's ticketing system, the perimeter monitoring system, and all sorts of miscellaneous equipment matching software all need me to modify them. Look, I haven't had a good night's sleep in a long time."

Shen Yuan stood up directly, her face moving straight towards Tian Ming.

She was very close, her breathing audible. A little closer, and they would have directly kissed.

Such pressure made Tian Ming move his chair back a bit.

Shen Yuan also realized she might be too close and turned her head, her face flushing slightly.

"Did you see it?" Shen Yuan asked.

"I saw it. Your face isn't clean. There's also a tiny bit of sleep in the corner of your right eye..."

Shen Yuan was stunned and quickly raised a hand to rub her eye. The atmosphere became a little awkward.

"I asked you to look at my dark circles, not to find sleep in my eye!"

Tian Ming burst into laughter and said, "Girls who do scientific research are just different. I know you're working hard, but I can't help it. Meals must be eaten one bite at a time, and the Shelter must also be improved step by step!"

Shen Yuan retorted, "Nonsense! With your abilities, many things can be done in one go. You just insist on making those people do it. They're not only slow, but their efficiency is also low."

As soon as Tian Ming heard this, he immediately retorted, "You're right. If I did everything, why would I keep so many people? If I went out one day and didn't come back, you'd all be dead."

Shen Yuan was momentarily speechless, but she didn't know how to refute. She knew Tian Ming wanted the Shelter to be able to operate on its own without him, but Tian Ming's stingy attitude annoyed her.

But what Shen Yuan didn't know was that if Tian Ming were too generous, the sense of urgency in the Shelter would disappear. If everyone was well-fed, safe, and secure, what would they strive for?

Shen Yuan sighed and said, "I've assembled some computers and installed AI chips, but single-machine local computing is very slow. I need a high-performance server host to simulate the current situation of the Shelter in a virtual world. This way, it can provide solutions to many problems in reality."

"Okay, no problem. I'll go find you a host." Tian Ming nodded and agreed.

Shen Yuan hadn't expected Tian Ming to agree.

"Didn't you say no? Why did you agree now?"

Tian Ming smiled calmly: "A small host can still be acquired. Setting up a large server room, I can't do that."

Shen Yuan's face immediately broke into a happy smile: "You're not bad; you're quite reasonable. We can go to a cloud server host room. Our research institute has its own server room. You must bring it over; don't use your replication ability."

Tian Ming nodded slightly. She also knew that his replication ability could only replicate hardware; the data and programs inside couldn't be replicated.

Shen Yuan then excitedly asked, "So when are you going to get it for me?"

"In a couple of days. I heard from Gouzi that there's signal interference with the perimeter early warning. What's the problem? Have you figured it out?"

"The reason is very complex. In the current Apocalypse, within Donghai City and its surroundings, there are many survivors using radio to call for help. Plus, the antennas on our early warning radar have a very low transmitting power, so naturally, interference occurs."

"Don't take advantage of my lack of education. I know that different frequencies don't interfere with each other."

Shen Yuan smiled calmly: "Boss, then let me ask you, how do you know that our transmission signal and the frequencies used by others are different?"

Tian Ming was momentarily speechless, waved his hand, and said, "Alright, it's a fact, I won't argue with you about this. Hurry up and tell me, how will you implement your second early warning plan?"

Shen Yuan smiled mysteriously, extended a fair, tender finger, and pointed to the ceiling.

"Use a line to directly lift the detection equipment into the sky with a nitrogen airship. From a high vantage point, the warning range can be expanded by more than ten times."

"The wind is strong at high altitudes, aren't you afraid the line will snap?" Tian Ming asked back.

"That's why I need your help. The line tethering the airship should be made of high-strength carbon nanotube fiber. Then, help me build an airship that can carry about 100 kilograms, and I can design an infrared remote sensing and optical satellite."

Tian Ming was slightly surprised: "You can even design a satellite?"

"What's so special about that? I've designed an agricultural pest monitoring satellite before. Civilian projects are open source, and besides, it doesn't need a Hall thruster or radiation shielding. It's a payload. Ninety percent of the functions can be cut, leaving only infrared remote sensing and visible light scanning. It's not very difficult."

Tian Ming nodded and said, "Alright, I can agree to this too. You provide the design blueprints, and I'll provide the materials and help you launch it. As for the rest, you solve it yourself."

Shen Yuan laughed happily. She said, "Then thank you, Boss!"

Suddenly, one of the screens flashed red, and the loudspeaker emitted an alarm.

Shen Yuan glanced at the screen, her expression instantly turning serious. She immediately opened an operating interface, and the indicators on it dimmed one by one.

"This is bad, Boss! A large number of zombies are coming towards us. The perimeter early warning radar has been destroyed by them."
