51: Come here, I am the rule

If they couldn't win, they surrendered immediately. In the apocalypse, survival was the most important thing. Their boss was dead, so who were they supposed to fight for?

That night, although it was snowing heavily, the Shelter was busy all night.

All the troublemakers were tied up and gathered in the factory building of the dining hall.

Among them, quite a few tried to escape midway, but they were caught by Metal Zombies, and after a few were bitten to death, no one else dared to try escaping.

Vehicles entered the Shelter one by one; there were over two hundred vehicles, and all the supplies these people brought were moved into the warehouse. The supplies in the warehouse immediately expanded threefold.

The previously stretched-thin supply reserves now had a considerable surplus.

They worked until noon the next day, and the factory building was packed with people squatting.

Excluding those hit by bullets during the exchange of fire, there were a total of 498 people.

Lin Yue tallied the numbers and handed them to Tian Ming: 156 men and 342 women. These women were all young, and their faces were filled with fear, unsure of what fate awaited them in the new Shelter.

“Boss, our casualties during the exchange of fire were very low. Five people died, and eight were injured,” Doggy said beside Tian Ming.

Tian Ming nodded slightly: “I know. Tell the kitchen to make more pasta and steamed buns. They brought so many supplies, we should be able to live more comfortably this winter.”

“Alright, Boss.”

Tian Ming turned around and spoke loudly to the people squatting on the ground: “Among you, whoever can speak for the group, take one step forward!”

The people looked at each other, having already witnessed Tian Ming's superpower. No one dared to step forward, fearing they would be shot in the head like their boss.

Tian Ming frowned slightly, a hint of displeasure flashing in his eyes. He raised his voice again and shouted: “I will only say this once: whoever can represent you, step forward immediately!”

Under his pressure, finally, one person stood out. It was a burly man with a full beard on his face, looking quite masculine.

Tian Ming sized him up before asking, “What’s your name?”

“My name is Zhang Hao,” the man's voice was a bit deep, but his attitude was respectful.

Tian Ming nodded, “These people you brought, I'll let you manage them. They caused trouble, so you will bear the responsibility.”

Whether Zhang Hao was willing or not, he had no right to refuse. These people might have been part of the underworld before, and it was impossible for them to integrate into his Shelter immediately. He had to give them some time, and could only choose an obedient person from among them to manage them.

Zhang Hao nodded slightly and said, “May I choose some people to be my assistants?”

“You may!”

Tian Ming nodded, then turned to look at Doggy again: “Doggy, take Zhang Hao down and teach him the rules of our Shelter well.”

Doggy nodded and said to Zhang Hao, “Come with me, I'll give you a lesson.”

Although Zhang Hao hesitated for a moment, he still followed Doggy out of the factory building.

“Director Han!”

Tian Ming called out.

“Here.”

Director Han responded. She had been standing silently in the corner and only walked over when she saw Tian Ming notice her.

“There are more women. Open a new dormitory building for them. Let them clean it themselves, and tell Lin Yue to collect all their information and then submit it to Shen Yuan,” Tian Ming instructed.

“Understood, alright!” Director Han nodded.

Tian Ming then looked at Qiu Wuhui, waving his hand at him. Qiu Wuhui quickly ran over.

“Qiu Wuhui, this group of people who came, it’s clear they were from the underworld before. Their minds might be simple, but their limbs are well-developed. Pay attention during this time, and whoever you like, tell Zhang Hao directly. The Materials Group needs to expand, so choose from this batch of people.”

When Qiu Wuhui heard Tian Ming say this, he nodded repeatedly. The powerful zombies in the city were increasing, and if the Materials Group didn't have Iron Dude's help, he wouldn't dare to go out. Now, when they went out, they didn't dare to collect supplies separately; they could only act together. Because only by acting together could they fight against those mutated zombies.

“From now on, this is your new home. I don't care what you think, as long as you stay here, you must abide by the rules I set. Do not use your ignorance to challenge my bottom line. I am a very reasonable person, but in this Shelter, I am the reason,” Tian Ming said loudly to the crowd.

No one dared to question Tian Ming's words. The people below remained silent, just looking at him quietly. And this was the effect Tian Ming wanted. He knew these people were definitely not convinced, they just hadn't said it out loud.

People from the underworld were rarely good. Otherwise, they wouldn't have brought so many women, and these women were all young, and their appearances were quite good. Proportionally, there was more than one per person.

“Director Han, arrange for them to eat, one steamed bun and two regular buns per person. Then you and Qiu Wuhui arrange their accommodation. Starting tomorrow, whether male or female, everyone must come out to work, otherwise, there will be no food. From now on, the Shelter's dining hall will only recognize meal tickets, not people.”

After Tian Ming finished these instructions, he walked out of the dining hall. He hadn't slept all night; yesterday he spent so long with Shen Yuan working on the satellite. Then, in the middle of the night, he encountered this kind of situation and had been busy until now. He felt his head buzzing and just wanted to sleep.

Coming out of the dining hall, the snow outside had already stopped. The ground was a pristine white. Stepping on the snow, he returned to his room and immediately turned on the air conditioning. He lived alone on the east side, and the room was fully equipped. The power supply was also independent, so he lived very comfortably, much more comfortably than others in the Shelter.

Sharing hardships and suffering was not something Tian Ming believed in. The kind of life one lived depended on one's ability. Compared to those shivering in the dormitories, Tian Ming lay in his comfortable room and felt very happy, extremely happy.

Happiness is a comparative degree. You can afford to eat bird's nest, but everyone can afford it. Then the feeling of happiness is not so strong. When others don't have it, but you do, that is true happiness.

He had just laid down and was about to fall asleep when there was a knock on the door.

Tian Ming had already told Doggy to tell those people not to disturb him. And his walkie-talkie was also turned off, so who was this inconsiderate person knocking on his door again?

He opened the door to see Shen Yuan, this girl, wearing a large felt hat, holding a laptop. Her small face was red from the cold. Seeing Tian Ming open the door, she quickly squeezed into Tian Ming's room.

“Phew, so comfortable, Boss, your air conditioning is powerful! It's freezing outside, I didn't sleep well last night, it was crackling all night.” Shen Yuan felt as if she was at her own home, not at all restrained. She pulled up a stool and sat directly at the desk, opening her laptop.

“I haven't slept yet, I want to sleep. If you need my help with something, can it wait until tomorrow?” Tian Ming lay directly on the bed, pulling the quilt up tightly, covering himself completely.
