123: You're leaving everything to me, right?

The Red Crystal Core's effect could slightly increase Tian Ming's control range, but more importantly, it could significantly speed up the synthesis of a specific target element.

Tungsten metal is a good thing; being able to synthesize it in large quantities would definitely enhance the Shelter's survival capability, because armor-piercing rounds use tungsten steel for their armor-piercing effect.

Tian Ming hadn't yet discovered the other enhancements brought by the Red Crystal Core. However, it was almost certain that the higher the level of the zombie, the more obvious the Red Crystal Core's enhancement would be for him.

Tian Ming looked at the ceiling, closed his eyes, and soon fell asleep.

Early the next morning, Tian Ming arrived at the cafeteria. Expanding from a thousand people to over four thousand, the cafeteria was exceptionally busy in the morning.

The kitchen staff had also doubled. However, they had brought in a lot of large kitchen equipment from Huaxin Base, which significantly improved the kitchen's efficiency.

For example, there were automatic cutting machines, cooking machines, dough mixers, and gigantic steamers, among other things.

Coupled with the fact that the Shelter's food was mainly processed, and not much food required deep processing, the kitchen staff did not increase significantly.

After getting two large steamed buns and a cup of soy milk, Tian Ming had just sat down when he heard a commotion from the main hall.

Immediately following that were the shouts of the enforcement team members. Tian Ming, gnawing on his bun, figured it was probably due to another conflict. Such a boss was truly down-to-earth.

The catering staff from Huaxin also had a manager, a big Fat Man named Qin An. From his appearance, he was a typical chef.

The Fat Man walked over and smiled at Tian Ming, bowing and scraping.

"Boss, how is it? Are today's buns especially fresh?" Qin An asked cautiously.

Tian Ming nodded and said, "Hmm, not bad. Where's Liu Zhizhi? Why haven't I seen her?"

Upon hearing Tian Ming ask about Liu Zhizhi, a trace of unnaturalness flashed across Qin An's face, and he immediately said, "She seems to be feeling a bit unwell and is resting, so she didn't come."

Tian Ming didn't say anything after hearing that; working in the cafeteria was relatively hard.

Qin An paused, then asked, "Boss, I want to ask you something."

"Hmm, what is it?" Tian Ming asked.

"Can our Shelter's Comprehensive Management Department issue a private business license?"

Tian Ming frowned and retorted, "What do you want a private business license for? Are you going to open a restaurant?"

Qin An, the Fat Man, scratched his head and stammered, "It's not me, it's a brother of mine. He's also a chef, but he wasn't given a quota when he moved in, and since Boss, you have the ability to replicate equipment, he didn't join the cafeteria."

"For this matter, you should report it to the Comprehensive Management Department; they will resolve it for you."

"Boss, our cafeteria's three meals a day don't have much variety. I personally suggest we have a private business and build another small cafeteria to give Shelter members more choices," Qin An said.

Tian Ming put down his chopsticks and said, "I understand. You want to go with a market economy, right?"

"Boss, that's exactly what I mean. Can you talk to the Comprehensive Management Department about it?"

Tian Ming pondered for a moment. In fact, both he and Mo Santong had such an idea. They could actually do a pilot program. He would consider this matter.

Tian Ming nodded slightly and said, "I will consider this matter. These next few days, you can wait for the Management Department to issue an announcement."

Upon hearing this, Qin An was immediately delighted and quickly said, "Thank you, Boss."

...

After breakfast, Tian Ming left the cafeteria. After nearly three months of construction, the Shelter's towering city walls were finally nearing completion. A large amount of labor was released and began to be invested in the construction of the cement factory.

And the greenhouse was also progressing in an orderly manner.

Tian Ming arrived at the Central Building. When the Comprehensive Management Department was established, the Comprehensive Management Department also set up an office for Tian Ming on the top floor of the building, but most of the time, Tian Ming was not in the office.

Although the specifications were very good, he couldn't sit still. When he usually came, he would just stare blankly in the office.

As the boss of the Shelter, Tian Ming managed this place more like a private enterprise.

Pushing open the office door, he found that the desk was already piled high with a large stack of documents and files. Sitting down and flipping through them briefly, Tian Ming felt a headache coming on.

The document titles had that distinct flavor, similar to "Regarding the Shelter's Waste Disposal Methods," "Cafeteria Expansion Project Plan," "Personnel Selection System," and even "Education Issues for Children within the Shelter."

Weren't these matters handled by Lin Yue? Why did that fellow just quit without a word?

"Alright, alright, playing this game with me, huh?" Tian Ming was so angry he wanted to curse. What did Lin Yue mean by silently dumping this mess on him?

...

"Lin Yue, come up here for a moment. I'm in the top-floor office," Tian Ming said into his earpiece.

A moment later, Lin Yue ran up, with a middle-aged woman following behind her.

Tian Ming pointed to the documents and files in front of him and said, "What's going on? You've handed over all major and minor decision-making power to me now, haven't you?"

Tian Ming's tone carried an accusation. In this Shelter, besides him, the boss, no one could openly act as a hands-off manager.

Before Lin Yue could speak, Ji Ruping, who was behind her, stepped forward and said, "Boss, these documents were sent up by me."

Tian Ming looked up at Ji Ruping, who continued, "These documents are her work handover, and I am responsible for organizing and submitting them."

Tian Ming was amused and retorted, "You're in such a hurry to take over, aren't you?"

Ji Ruping used to be a senior executive in a company, and she remained completely unruffled by Tian Ming's question.

"Yes, Boss. I believe I am fully capable of handling this job. The Shelter has many miscellaneous tasks, and I have experience in this area from before."

Tian Ming looked at the documents on the table: "Capable of handling it? Is your capability just piling all these things on my desk for me to deal with, is that it?"

Facing Tian Ming's questioning, Ji Ruping calmly said, "Boss, these have all been processed. I believe it is necessary for the Boss to know about the decision for each matter. Behind each stack of documents, there are detailed processing results for the Boss to review."

Tian Ming tapped the desk with his hand, picked up some documents and started reading. As he flipped to the processing results at the back, his expression softened considerably. Every document had clear details on how each matter was handled and coordinated.

Tian Ming meticulously read for a long time, while Lin Yue and Ji Ruping stood there, not daring to make a sound.

After reading the documents, Tian Ming casually tossed them onto the desk and said, "Since these matters have already been handled, why show them to me?"
