263: You are the Alliance's secret weapon.

If one side cannot overcome the other, then humans and zombies must find a balance point; only then will the situation not worsen.

Previously, the alliance was always in a passive state, unable to find a relatively balanced approach. Now, discussing this matter behind closed doors, Lin Yao and Bai Yan looked at Tian Ming, and their thoughts converged at a certain moment.

Tian Ming's strength surpassed that of the Commander. Although he had certain limitations, he could at least stabilize the current situation and buy the alliance some time for development.

But the problem now was how to get Tian Ming to agree to restrain the Commander. If the survival and future of a group depended on one person, then that person would have dominion over that group, enjoying absolute power, at least within the human faction.

Lin Yao glanced at Bai Yan, who nodded slightly, knowing what the Commander was about to say.

Lin Yao spoke, "Tian Ming, you disobeyed orders on the field, so your position as Senior Instructor must be revoked. After all, such an incident has a significant and negative impact."

Tian Ming smiled indifferently and said, "Old Lin, I know what you want to say. Isn't it just about having me restrain the Commander? Just say it directly; there's no need to beat around the bush."

Lin Yao nodded slightly and said, "Alright, then I'll be direct."

He paused, then continued, "You are the strongest in the human faction. The development of our Super Legion's mechas has entered the final stage, but it still requires some time. I will have Bai Yan assist you in jointly safeguarding the security of the alliance's various bases. Your main task is to restrain the high-level Corpse Kings."

"Old Lin, I can't even guarantee the safety of a fifty-person team. Do you still think I can protect the entire alliance? My current control radius is only 30 meters. I have some detection capabilities, but the covered range is only 5 to 6 kilometers. Besides, the alliance's military strength is simply not enough. I can't even fully utilize my abilities."

If Tian Ming were allowed to go on a killing spree without so many considerations, he could do it. At worst, he could use Super Nitrogen Bombs to plow through all the zombies in Beidu. But doing so would surely provoke the Commander to directly attack Beidu's base. Once there are no mutual interests to restrain them, both sides will be finished.

The broader situation was quite complex. The Commander, and those high-level Corpse Kings, had brains. What they wanted was for humans to stop resisting and become their food. If all humans were killed, the zombies' intelligence would not improve, and for the Commander, the future of the corpse race would be ruined.

Tian Ming's answer was ambiguous, neither agreeing nor explicitly refusing.

Lin Yao and Bai Yan exchanged glances, both seeing disappointment in the other's eyes.

Lin Yao, however, said, "If we truly give up resistance, then we will become fish to be slaughtered. I imagine you wouldn't want to see such a situation, would you?"

Tian Ming smiled indifferently and said, "I can keep the zombies at a relatively low threat level, but I have conditions."

"What conditions?" Lin Yao asked.

Tian Ming pondered for a moment: "I hope the alliance can consolidate all its strength to build a Super Underground City capable of accommodating the entire population. This way, we won't have to spread ourselves thin rushing between various bases. And there's another condition: regarding my girlfriend's situation, you must find the reason for her Ability Users' decline."

"There's already some progress on Shen Yuan's matter. I've had the research institute use the energy from the Red Crystal Core to stabilize Shen Yuan's Ability Users' decline. As for what you mentioned, consolidating all personnel, that's like tying everyone together. If there's any accident, it would be a complete wipeout."

Lin Yao actually disagreed with Tian Ming's idea. It wasn't that it couldn't be done; an Underground City for tens of millions of people, if built centrally, wouldn't take too long. With current technology and the cooperation of Ability Users, it could be completed in at most ten years.

But doing so had clear pros and cons: stronger defense and more concentrated power were advantages, but if they couldn't withstand the zombie pressure, it could mean a complete wipeout, or even becoming a breeding factory for the Commander.

To truly follow Tian Ming's suggestion would undoubtedly place all of humanity's hope on Tian Ming, leaving no room for retreat.

No one dared to directly agree to this decision, but Lin Yao and Bai Yan had no other choice. Binding the entire alliance to an individual's will was undoubtedly terrifying.

Tian Ming watched the two fall into contemplation, a smile playing on his lips, and said, "I know you're considering the bigger picture, and this decision is difficult to make. But everything is reciprocal. I stand with the alliance, and I don't want to be abandoned once I'm no longer useful."

Bai Yan frowned slightly and asked, "What do you mean by that?"

"Nothing specific. Some people's roles are only applicable to certain special situations. Just like me, if humanity truly understands the principle of Ability Users, or even controls the rules of this world, then I won't be an asset, but a threat. The entire group won't place its survival on one person. If you truly want me to wholeheartedly serve the entire alliance, then my safety is the alliance's safety."

Tian Ming spoke plainly. Lin Yao, as the highest person in charge of the alliance, showed little change in expression, but Bai Yan's face turned very grim.

"Do you know what you're saying?" Bai Yan asked.

Tian Ming smiled indifferently: "Your reaction means you understand what I mean. My conditions will not change. And only by concentrating everything can we contend with the zombies; otherwise, I alone cannot maintain the balance."

Before Tian Ming could speak, Lin Yao nodded and said, "I agree to your conditions, and I will facilitate their implementation as soon as possible."

Tian Ming nodded slightly and said, "I will have the Lawrence Family personnel move over as well, integrating all global technology. Only then can we be efficient."

Both took a deep breath. This kid was truly whimsical; this gamble was undeniably huge.

After discussing for a while, Lin Yao and Bai Yan decided to adopt Tian Ming's proposal to quickly gather all personnel and build a Super Underground City. Although this decision was a huge gamble for the alliance, they had no better choice to resist the zombie threat.

Emerging from the meeting room, Tian Ming walked alone in the central plaza of the base, looking at the simulated lights on the dome, lost in thought.

Zombies were not as intelligent as humans; even the Commander, at his level, couldn't compare to the top human intellects. But there were too many clever people, too many ideas, and when they came together, the situation became very complicated.

Under the current special circumstances, there was no need for so many ideas or so many concerns. Everything had to align in one direction, and all strength had to be concentrated. Only then would there be a future.
