60: Further improvement in control accuracy

As soon as Tian Ming spoke, Shen Yi already understood what Tian Ming meant. If heavy snow blocked the roads for a long time, the Materials Group would likely exist in name only.

If the ground route wasn't feasible, they could only proceed from the air.

"Boss means he wants to build an aircraft?"

"Mm, something similar to a helicopter," Tian Ming nodded and said.

Shen Yi nodded and said, "Wait for me here for a moment; I'm going to get my personal flight device."

About ten minutes later, Shen Yi, panting, brought over his personal flight device. This thing weighed about 50 kilograms and had various parts.

Its main flight power was provided by a power battery. The other wearable components were lightweight, high-strength carbon fiber, and two ducted fans were strapped to his back.

"Mind introducing it?" Tian Ming asked, looking at the personal flight device, which resembled a spacesuit.

Shen Yi nodded and said, "This is the latest personal flight device developed by our research institute. It has two ducted variable thrust engines, with a maximum single-engine power of 15kw and a maximum load capacity of 200kg. Its maximum cruising speed is 200km per hour, and its maximum altitude is 500m. Flight control is integrated into the helmet, and combined with control gloves, flight can be controlled through gesture adjustments. However, its endurance is relatively short; the personal flight device has a range of 50 kilometers."

Tian Ming was startled and said, "High-tech stuff, these ducted fans are electrically driven, right?"

Shen Yi nodded and said, "Yes, Boss, you can replicate the hardware of this thing, but the flight control software is encrypted, and I can't decipher it."

These words were like a bucket of cold water poured on him. He had originally wanted to disassemble this thing, enlarge it, and make it into an aerial transport helicopter.

"Is my ambition a bit too grand?" Tian Ming asked.

Shen Yi sighed and said, "Boss, the people in the Shelter cannot make high-precision, cutting-edge things. Take mobile phones, for example; the industries involved include communication, manufacturing, and software ecosystems. And the manufacturing process is even more complex: batteries, semiconductors, chip processors, and so on. I know Boss can replicate identical hardware, but hardware needs software support to function, and the more complex the equipment, the more it requires high-end personnel to operate."

Shen Yi sighed. Even if he was powerful, he couldn't replace an entire team by himself. Tian Ming knew this path was temporarily unfeasible, so he didn't press the issue further.

In the early stages, he could only take the lead himself.

Tian Ming smiled slightly and said, "Alright, don't be discouraged. I'll see if there are any surviving experts in this field. If there are, I'll definitely bring them to our Shelter."

Shen Yi looked at Tian Ming with a somewhat complex expression. From the beginning, he had placed great hopes on Tian Ming, hoping he would save the world. But now, his mindset had gradually changed. From the moment he started disassembling the engine, he felt how difficult it was.

In the Laboratory, he conducted theoretical research, with the most advanced simulation software, the best Laboratory, and various other tools. Everything was created based on an industrial system.

Now, even if he designed something, he could only print out a bunch of plastic parts with a printer, or without a 3D printer, he couldn't even make a small screw.

In the Apocalypse, only practicality mattered. Having a Boss who could control matter in the Shelter was already a dream start compared to other Shelters.

Seeing Shen Yi's somewhat dejected expression, Tian Ming smiled and said, "Don't be disheartened. Don't I have your back? Don't worry, with me here, things will only get better and better. Oh, by the way, how's your excavator research coming along?"

Shen Yi quickly walked to the corner of the Laboratory and brought out a small excavator model.

"This is an excavator I conceived before. I made some modifications to the original design to better suit the current situation. I also added a remote control function," Shen Yi said, opening the excavator's cockpit.

Tian Ming observed carefully and found the excavator to be very cleverly designed. It could be operated via a remote control.

Tian Ming said, "Mm, alright. If I enlarge each part for you, can you assemble it?"

"No problem. I'll assemble one finished product first, and then Boss can replicate it from the finished product," Shen Yi said.

"There might not be enough elements around. In this scrap steel factory, there's enough iron, but other metals aren't quite sufficient," Tian Ming said.

"It doesn't matter; they're basically all steel structures!" Shen Yi said.

"Then let's try to make one and see."

Shen Yi quickly brought up the parameters of various components on the computer. As Tian Ming looked at these parameters, a three-dimensional image of the specific components suddenly appeared in his mind.

This was the first time such a situation had occurred. Before, when he helped Shen Yuan make satellite components, the precision was far from enough, with significant deviations. But now, it was different. With the three-dimensional image appearing in his mind, the components he reconstructed out of thin air were extremely accurate.

Tian Ming mostly extracted the elements for reconstructing items from underground or from the surrounding scrap steel. These elements were basically omnipresent.

Because the inside of an atom is empty, Tian Ming could eliminate the interaction forces between elementary particles, so even a sealed container could be directly filled with various liquids by him. As long as everything was within his control, he was almost omnipotent.

Tian Ming looked at the parameters on the computer and directly created all the components according to the parameters. It took him less than half a day, while Shen Yi was checking each one. The more he checked, the more shocked he became. The specifications and dimensions of the things Tian Ming created were absolutely perfect.

Shen Yi said somewhat excitedly, "Boss, why has your control become so accurate? I heard from Shen Yuan that when you helped her make satellite components, you couldn't precisely control the size of the components."

"I'm not quite sure either. Maybe the more I use my ability, the more proficient I become. The only drawback is the control range; this range increases slower and slower. Currently, I can only control matter within a radius of just over eight meters."

Tian Ming also couldn't explain this phenomenon and could only attribute it to his increasing proficiency in controlling matter.

"Boss, the subsequent assembly and testing will be left to me. I also need a barrel of diesel."

Tian Ming nodded slightly. An iron oil drum formed, filled with over a hundred liters of diesel. All of this was completed in just a few seconds.

"Have Grandpa Yuan send a few people to help with the assembly. Bring a few young, strong lads. These are all steel structures; I don't think you can move them," Tian Ming instructed, then left first.

His work was done; the rest was up to Shen Yi. It started snowing again outside, and Tian Ming could only shake his head.

Qiu Wuhui's voice came through the walkie-talkie: "Materials Group, come out, move things."

Tian Ming was a bit puzzled. With such heavy snow, was the Materials Group still going out to collect materials? So he picked up the walkie-talkie and asked, "Qiu Wuhui, what are you doing? The roads are blocked. Where did you get the materials?"
