317: Almost died

Lord Li, free from the carbon fiber restraints, showed a hint of surprise on his face when he saw Tian Ming awaken from the illusion.

The moment Tian Ming escaped the illusion, all of his Nanometer Avatars also moved simultaneously.

Boom! With a loud bang, the guard captain was directly sent flying, and Tian Ming’s heart was pierced through, his consciousness beginning to blur.

The blade formed by the captain's palm was even stronger than carbon fiber.

His immortal body worked, but the repair speed was extremely slow; if he hadn't been caught in the illusion, that captain wouldn't have been able to break through his defenses at all.

Tian Ming closed his eyes, and the second Nanometer Avatar directly transformed into an ion defense barrier, enveloping Tian Ming, while the other Nanometer Avatars split into smaller ones and rushed towards the guard captain.

The pain in his body was extremely intense, making it impossible to concentrate his will. Tian Ming could only curse, muttering that he had actually capsized in a ditch. Fortunately, his Nanometer Avatars had absorbed many Red Crystal Cores and could fight autonomously, otherwise, he would probably be in a lot of trouble this time.

The first time his immortal body reformed was a year ago when he was crushed by a meteorite, which took twelve hours. This time, his heart was pierced, which was a severe injury, and he didn't know how long it would take to repair.

Tian Ming's face was contorted in pain; his entire will was focused on resisting the pain and trying not to faint. At this moment, what he feared most was being dismembered after losing consciousness and then dismembered again after reforming. If that were the case, he might never wake up again.

Tian Ming couldn't avoid the pain, but his damaged heart was wrapped in a thin energy membrane and was still beating. Each beat pulled at his nerves, causing the muscles on Tian Ming's face to twitch uncontrollably.

Lord Li, seeing the barrier formed by the Nanometer Avatars, used telepathy to summon a large number of Corpse Kings to attack. He had to break through the barrier; Lu Tianming was not dead, and he absolutely could not be allowed to recover, otherwise, Lord Li would be the one to die.

Besides the Nanometer Avatar constructing the barrier, Tian Ming's five Nanometer Avatars also returned. After their master was injured, the combat power of the Nanometer Avatars also seemed to be severely affected.

The battle between Lord Li's subordinates and the Nanometer Avatars was at a stalemate; the Nanometer Avatars' tearing efficiency decreased, with their tearing effect almost matching the Corpse Kings' self-repair.

Seeing this situation, Lord Li also understood that the longer the delay, the more disadvantageous it would be for him.

At this moment, Tian Ming's heart cells were also rapidly proliferating and repairing. At this rate, it would be fully repaired in at most three hours.

The pain hadn't lessened, but Tian Ming had adapted to it somewhat by now, though he had no strength left to activate his Ability.

Suddenly, Xin Xin's voice came from his mind.

"How is it? Do you need help?"

"Stop talking nonsense, if you want to help, hurry up and help me recover, or tie up the Corpse Kings outside," Tian Ming said through gritted teeth.

"Your body already has a trace of divinity; if I help you repair, I can only shorten the recovery time by half," Xin Xin said.

"Stop talking nonsense! I'm dying of pain!" Tian Ming only felt his consciousness becoming increasingly blurred, and the pain in his body also becoming less sensitive.

He suddenly found himself seemingly entering a different space, a space filled with green.

Time here seemed to slow down, and the beating speed of his heart also slowed down. But the pain in his brain showed no sign of weakening.

After an unknown amount of time, Xin Xin's voice once again came from his mind.

"Not good, Lord Li has brought the small magnetostorm bomb from Su Yuan Base! He wants to perish with you!" Xin Xin's tone carried a hint of panic.

"Help me stop him."

"No, my consciousness is embedded in the repair process; I can't get away!"

"Damn it!"

...

That small nuclear bomb was directly detonated by the staff under Lord Li's coercion. This type of bomb has a promoting effect on the evolution of zombies due to radiation; all Corpse Kings escaped back to the surface before the nuclear explosion. And Tian Ming was at the very center of the explosion.

Boom...

The entire ground vibrated extremely violently, and the entire surface instantly rippled with countless folds. The hard ground at that moment seemed to have liquefied, and circles of ripples spread rapidly with the shockwave.

At the moment of the explosion, Tian Ming only felt a huge force coming, and even with his eyes closed, he felt a blinding red light envelop the entire world.

His consciousness lasted only a few tenths of a second, and then he completely lost it.

None of the personnel in the entire base survived; they felt no pain, because they had already perished before the pain reached them.

Except for Tian Ming, the base survivors, and a part of the zombies, were all torn to shreds, while Lord Li and dozens of Corpse Kings were in the distance, looking at the collapsed pit, deep in thought.

"The weapons controlled by humans are truly terrifying; they seem so weak, yet so powerful," Lord Li said with emotion. Originally, he only wanted to kill Tian Ming, but he never expected that this heavyweight weapon from Su Yuan Base's inventory would have such destructive power.

His subordinate beside him said, "Our evolutionary food has also been buried with him."

Lord Li smiled: "Trading a base for humanity's future is a good deal. As long as this all-element Ability User is gone, then humanity will never have a chance to rise again. Everyone will become nourishment for my corpse race's rise. Let's go, Su Yuan Base has become history, we must go to Beidu and apologize to my Corpse Emperor Jiang Chen."

Although Lord Li said so, he wasn't worried at all, because the Corpse Emperor Jiang Chen would not hold him accountable. For the entire corpse race, sacrificing one base and six hundred thousand people to eliminate the biggest threat was a sure profit.

...

After an unknown period, a huge tungsten metal sphere appeared in the scorching ruins. This sphere was burned red hot. The inside of the sphere was hollow.

At the moment of the explosion, all the Nanometer Avatars enveloped Tian Ming. These Nanometer Avatars directly melted and condensed together in the terrifying high temperature. The Nanometer Avatars used their last bit of energy to maintain the shape of the sphere.

More than ten days passed, and there was no movement inside the sphere. Until a month later, crack! A crack appeared on the surface of the sphere, like a giant black egg breaking open.

"Damn it, Lord Li, you got me, but I will definitely get my revenge," Tian Ming's voice came from inside the giant egg. Immediately after, the crack grew larger and larger until it completely dissolved and differentiated. Tian Ming sat naked on the ground, panting heavily.

He didn't know how much time had passed. The moment he regained consciousness, he couldn't see his hand in front of his face, and all his Nanometer Avatars had lost contact.

"Xin Xin, Xin Xin!" Tian Ming stood up, and with a wave of his hand, he put on a set of clothes.

He called out Xin Xin's name, looking at the ruins before him, feeling extremely shocked.

In his mind, there was no response from Xin Xin. His body had returned to normal, and he seemed to have become stronger.

Tian Ming closed his eyes, sensing the distance of material manipulation. A moment later, he opened his eyes, which were filled with ecstasy. One kilometer! The distance of material manipulation had increased tenfold, reaching one kilometer.

"Xin Xin, did you help me?" Tian Ming was a bit incoherent, not knowing what to say.

"Alas! ..." A sigh entered Tian Ming's ears.
