15: Clinic establishment

Tian Ming helped Wu Cuiling up and said, "I don't want your life; I want you to save everyone's lives."

Wu Cuiling was stunned and said, "Boss, there are too few medicines here. Even if I wanted to, it would be very difficult to do. The conditions are simply too poor."

"I will provide the medicines, and I'll pay you a salary. As long as you are willing, I guarantee you will live a life of comfort in the Shelter."

Wu Cuiling looked at Tian Ming with surprise, then nodded heavily, "Boss, I am willing!"

Tian Ming had always wanted to set up a Clinic in the Shelter so that everyone's medical needs could be met. His ability was basically useless against diseases.

Humans have life, and he cannot control living matter. He had tried; he could control viruses, but once they formed cells, he was helpless.

"Boss, is there anything your ability to control matter can't do?"

Tian Ming shook his head and said, "I cannot control living things. I can destroy viruses, but not bacteria. If I could control everything, I would have just gone into the city to decompose zombies instead of hiding here."

"Actually, this kind of ability is a bit unscientific. The combination and decomposition of matter involve changes in energy. The Boss's ability cannot be explained scientifically." As a highly educated woman, Wu Cuiling found this ability to control all things unbelievable.

"Don't worry about science or not science now; I will provide the medicines. Among the survivors, you can find helpers yourself to help you build the Clinic. When Doggo goes out to collect supplies, tell him what you need. If he dares not to follow through again, tell me."

"Boss, Doggo is not suitable to be the manager of this Shelter. The group of people he leads only know how to fight bravely, speak ill of us, and hit people at the drop of a hat, pointing their crossbows at others. Also, with supplies in their hands, the amount they consume is more than any of us."

Wu Cuiling chose to complain without hesitation. If the Shelter was managed by a thug like Doggo, it wouldn't last long.

Tian Ming knew what Wu Cuiling was saying. He just nodded slightly and said, "I know all this, but Doggo and his group risk their lives to collect supplies, so it's only right for them to eat and take a bit more."

Although he said that, Tian Ming still wanted to replace Doggo. However, at present, there was no suitable candidate. With over seven million people in Donghai, there must still be many survivors. Even with a 90% infection rate, there would still be 700,000 survivors.

Tian Ming was eager for talent at this moment. He needed a commander with management ability to run the entire Shelter.

Coming down from the building of the abandoned steel factory, Tian Ming noticed that the people in the Shelter looked at him differently now. To be precise, it was a look of awe.

"Doggo, come here!" Tian Ming shouted upstairs.

Doggo poked his head out from the balcony, saw that the Boss was calling him, and quickly scurried down from upstairs.

"Boss, you're looking for me?"

"Did I not tell you that the water problem needs to be solved as soon as possible? Are you taking my words as wind in your ears?"

"Boss, you don't know, I was thinking of going to find some water purifier stores to get some purifiers, but the display models inside are too big and heavy, we can't move them at all. What can I do? Our team only has four people, two collect supplies, and two are responsible for vigilance and lookout."

Doggo was complaining bitterly, but Tian Ming also saw the supplies Doggo's team had managed to get, which were actually quite good. In two days, they brought back more than a dozen carts. Ninety percent of it was food, and only a small part was daily necessities.

Tian Ming couldn't be too harsh on Doggo. Although this guy wasn't a good person, he was very diligent in his work.

"Wu Cuiling, you're going to open a Clinic here. Next time you go out, bring back a cart of medicines for me, no duplicate medicines. For medical equipment, whether you've seen it or not, get me one of each."

Doggo, however, pouted and said indifferently, "What Clinic are you opening? A cart of medicine is not as cost-effective as a cart of food. If they die, they die. Survival of the fittest. Boss, you're too kind-hearted. I even think you look a little unfamiliar today. Before, if someone dared to lay a hand on you, you'd just kill them directly."

Smack!

Tian Ming slapped Doggo on the head, and Doggo was stunned.

"Boss, why did you hit me?"

"You followed Qin Biao for so many years, and all you learned was how to fight bravely, didn't you? Wu Cuiling, she's a woman, and a mother of a child! If I were to kill her indiscriminately in front of everyone, what would happen?"

"Nothing would happen. Would they dare to disobey you?"

"Do you think it's feudal society now? No wonder you can't be the Boss."

Doggo scratched his head and said with a grin, "I didn't think about being the Boss. Actually, it's pretty good just following the Boss."

"How many of your brothers willingly follow me?"

At this question, Doggo was instantly stunned.

"All of them are willing!" Doggo said. But this guy wasn't very good at lying, and his tone didn't sound genuine.

Tian Ming sneered and didn't expose him. Life was long, and he didn't care about sincerity or not, as long as they could get things done.

"For the Clinic, send a few people to help. If you forget the medicines again, I'll put you in solitary confinement and starve you for two days."

Doggo nodded, "Okay, Boss, I understand."

Although this guy was unwilling in his heart, if Tian Ming spoke, he would definitely carry it out. This was one of the reasons Tian Ming protected him in front of Wu Cuiling. After all, who doesn't like an obedient dog?

"Boss, there's something I need to tell you. Mr. Yuan, that old geezer, took twenty people and is reinforcing the perimeter wall with rocks and mud. Damn it, he's just fooling you. The wall he's building, let alone defending against zombies, can't even stop an eighty-year-old grandmother."

"Then why don't you go fix it?" Tian Ming asked coldly.

"Twenty people plus him, 800 grams of food every day, it's too much of a loss." Doggo still felt bad about the supplies; he didn't know the Boss's intention.

In fact, Mr. Yuan had already reported this problem to Tian Ming. Without cement and rebar, and without a professional construction team, there was no way to build a wall that could defend against zombies.

But he also proposed an idea, which was to build another wall three meters inside the old perimeter wall. After it was built, Tian Ming could apply Graphene to the wall, which would make the inner wall extremely smooth, and zombies would absolutely not be able to climb it.

Graphene has a planar two-dimensional structure and almost no friction. The two walls would form a moat, and barbed steel nails could be driven into the moat to temporarily prevent sporadic zombie attacks.

But if there was a large-scale zombie attack and the moat was filled, it would be useless. Ten kilometers of wall, twenty people, they could build about one kilometer a day, and they were not slacking off at all. It was certain that there would be no large-scale zombie exodus from the city in the short term.

Clatter, clatter, suddenly, gunshots rang out at the main entrance of the abandoned steel factory. Doggo instinctively dodged backward, and Tian Ming's brow instantly furrowed.
